The SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) are international goals to resolve global social issues and achieve a sustainable world that were adopted at a United Nations summit in September 2015. They comprise 17 goals and 169 targets.
ELIIY Power is a company that had already been working on the issues of the SDGs since its founding in 2006
As a dedicated manufacturer of storage batteries and electricity storage systems, ELIIY Power has contributed to the realization of a sustainable society through the enhanced penetration of safe, large lithium-ion batteries since its founding in 2006.
Of the 17 goals indicated in the SDGs, ELIIY Power selected six goals that have a deep connection to its business to be tackled on a priority and sustainable basis.
Goal 7: Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy

7.1 By 2030 ensure universal access to affordable, reliable, and modern energy services.
7.2 By 2030 increase substantially the share of renewable energy in the global energy mix by 2030.

By developing and facilitating the enhanced penetration of large-capacity storage batteries that are essential for renewable energies vulnerable to the effects of natural phenomena, ELIIY Power is a manufacturer that embraces a founding philosophy of contributing to human society.
Goal 9: Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and foster innovation

9.1 Develop quality, reliable, sustainable and resilient infrastructure, including regional and trans- border infrastructure, to support economic development and human well-being, with a focus on affordable and equitable access for all.
9.4 By 2030 upgrade infrastructure and retrofit industries to make them sustainable, with increased resource use efficiency and greater adoption of clean and environmentally sound technologies and industrial processes, all countries taking action in accordance with their respective capabilities.

We are working to ensure the safety of lithium-ion batteries, which use flammable materials, and develop non-flammable and highly sustainable batteries.

We aim to build a clean, eco-friendly and self-sufficient energy supply system that utilizes renewable energy allowing local production and local consumption at small scales that do not rely on large and aging infrastructure.
Goal 11: Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable

11.B By 2020, substantially increase the number of cities and human settlements adopting and implementing integrated policies and plans towards inclusion, resource efficiency, mitigation and adaptation to climate change, resilience to disasters, and develop and implement, in line with the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030, holistic disaster risk management at all levels

To deal with extended period power outages occurring due to frequently occurring natural disasters in Japan such as earthquakes and typhoons, ELIIY Power provides portable electricity storage systems that are ease to install. These systems are utilized to ensure the safety of residents and employees, and as BCP measures.

Working in conjunction with NTT DOCOMO, INC., we aim to create solutions towards the development of comfortable communities based on highly safe storage batteries as part of efforts to ensure safety and security due to the dwindling birthrate, aging population, growth of the nuclear family, and increase in the number of dual income families.
Goal 12: Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns

12.4 By 2020, achieve the environmentally sound management of chemicals and all wastes throughout their life cycle, in accordance with agreed international frameworks, and significantly reduce their release to air, water and soil in order to minimize their adverse impacts on human health and the environment.
